With more than 2,500 members, the San Antonio CPA Society is the third largest chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).
Our goals include:
Supporting professional activities to advance the accounting
profession
Protecting the interests of our members and of the general
public
Acting in a representative capacity for the profession
Members of the San Antonio CPA Society are financial and community leaders throughout our 21-county region, which extends from Laredo to Seguin and Adkins to Zapata.
Professionally, 40% of our members practice public accounting, which encompasses auditing, taxation and business consulting. Approximately 52% are members in industry, government and education (MIGIs, pronounced “my guys”), and 8% are student affiliate members, studying and working to become CPAs.
Through the San Antonio CPA Continuing Education Foundation, we provide top quality, affordable continuing professional education for CPAs and their staff members and support the programs of the TSCPA CPE Foundation. The CE Foundation also works to support the accounting programs of area universities, provides funding for accounting scholarships, and coordinates speakers for high school business classes and career fairs. Financial Literacy Committee volunteers provide training in financial management for nonprofit organizations and various community groups.
Within the community, the San Antonio CPA Society is dedicated to supporting service projects such as Blue Santa, the San Antonio Food Bank, United Way and Habitat for Humanity. Annually, our members organize and sponsor Funlympics, providing a day of fun, prizes and picnic lunch plus school supplies for more than 200 of San Antonio’s at-risk children.
